How sweet. Congratulations to you two love-birds and that precious bundle. It will be our turn next (hopefully next week), but of course -this is our third. ;) Hope we can share some of the same rekindled feelings that we had on our first adventure. What a nice reminder. We're in our 16th year of marriage and our older kids are 12 and 10. It goes by so fast! Cherish every moment!

Wow, congratulations man! My two kids have not been little babies for many years and sometimes I kind of miss that time. You are at the beginning of a grand adventure!

I'm a first time reader, but I hope you don't mind this comment on your very special day. I am 50 and the father of 5 children. the oldest is 19 and he just landed in SFO for Spring Break. the youngest are twins, that will be 11 in two weeks. I know you are a repeat dad, but your writing shows that birth is still a miracle for you. May I share some things I learned and wrote down as something for other dads. It's kind of cathartic for me to share it, thank you in advance.

    1) Every thing is temporary, the smiles and the tears, so just when you think you heard as much crying as you can stand, take it a little more, cause one day, it won't be there at all.

2)Enjoy the firsts, they become routine pretty quick, even the second child as firsts to celebrate.

    3) hold his hand in your hand for as many days as you can, notice how small, it won't be that small tomorrow and next month.

    4) hold his hand in your hand for as long as he'll let you. There will be a time when he'll let go. Don't worry, they do come back, but it will be different.

    5) Shut off the TV, i regret I didn't do it more.

    6) Watch Field of Dreams and Dead Poets Society, they will be different now than when you first saw them.

    7) Mark down the day you world changes, for me there was a moment with each child that they looked different, from infant to baby, baby to toddler, toddler to boy, boy to youngster, youngster to teenager, teenager to man.

    8) Err on the side of being with them as much as you can, you'll never regret it

Congratulations, and thank you for allowing me to share my fatherly joy with you.

congratulations! Don't miss a moment, you can't get them back! And, you won't be thinking of this, but your reward for all the sleepless nights, diapers, tantrums, and grey hairs from worry over what the heck your teenager is up to is this....grandchildren!! No one told me this. I was so frazzled with caring for the kids I couldn't wait until I got a breather (as in they were grown) But they surprised me with a reward--a second chance to really enjoy little ones. I have three (children) and three grandchildren and I am truely blessed. So are you.

I have twins who were born on March 4th so I consider it a very special day. That was seven years ago. Time flies when you are having fun. Congrats to you!
